Congratulations to Christine Chan for passing her Level 3 Exam with the PODCR

The Orthopaedic Division is one of the leaders for post-graduate orthopaedic training in Canada and has a long history of advancing the field of orthopaedic physiotherapy through education.

With a reputation built on excellent instructors and a rigorous examination process, the Division offers tailored online e-learning, webinars, workshops, courses and practice resources for members at a reasonable cost and time commitment. Members learn from other practicing physiotherapists and stay current with a regularly updated curriculum and program delivery based on providing quality and modern treatment.

The Orthopaedic Division is globally recognized as one of the accredited programs through the International Federation of Orthopaedic Manipulative Physical Therapists (IFOMPT). Canada is regarded as one of the leaders in neuromusculoskeletal therapy education from around the world.

The Division, through the Education Committee, developed the first edition of the orthopaedic curriculum which was approved by the Board of Directors of the CPA in 1985. It has been regularly reviewed and updated based on an evidence informed model to reflect the most current information available.

The mandate of the committee is to create, monitor, and update the approved purpose, curriculum, examination policies and procedures, instructor preparation and qualifications. The committee also provides recommended content for the course levels and a detailed outline of the contents for courses and examinations.

The Education Committee is dedicated to providing orthopaedic physiotherapists with professional development and continuous learning opportunities across Canada. We advance and evolve our curriculum based on an evidence informed model so physiotherapists can improve treatment and assessment skills, access best practices and collaborate with a community of expert professionals at a reasonable cost and time commitment.
